Home' The Planting : The Planting 2015 Programme Contents This is our 21st anniversary; we’re growing up. The event started as a tree
planting weekend way back when Woodfordia was a tidy and somewhat bare
dairy farm. It launched the transformation into the untidy but emerging cultural
parkland that is Woodfordia.
More importantly, this festival has created an ownership of Woodfordia and all
that it holds. These owners’ hands have been muddied by their contribution and
their spirits have been lifted in the company of their fellow compatriots. They are
engaging people sharing common simple values, making the world a better place
and a passion for celebrating our existence.
This 2015 Planting is casting the net more broadly by widening the programme’s
scope and depth. We’re imagining a future Planting that might organically
emerge into an event of its own right; one that will look and feel very different
from our Woodford Folk Festival. There’s lots of changes and we urge you to read
this programme carefully.
We plan that our programme will encompass the notion of knowledge sharing in
the humanities, arts and earth sciences. We hope that it might be underpinned
by a growing love of our environment blended with the joy-giving expressions of
