PLANT ARCHITECTURE WALK
Join Dick from Northey Street City Farm on a walk and talk
identifying trees and other plants on site. Observation and
discussion will focus on the natural architectural forms of plants
growing together and how we can incorporate this knowledge
into our gardens, food forests and bush regeneration projects to
maximise ecological diversity and create microclimates.

Roy Sonnenburg can tell you the call and whistles of almost every
bird on the Woodfordia property, and he can probably whistle back.
Roy is the former president of Birds Queensland and contributor to
the Atlas of Australian Birds. An excellent host for a morning walk of

A morning walk where you can take time to notice the little things.
Caterpillars, butterflies and their host plants have been especially
planted on the Woodfordia site. Our local invertebrates expert Helen
Schwencke is excellent at noticing the little things and can share the
delights with you.

Bushfoods have sustained the Traditional Custodians of this land
for thousands of years, and the land continues to provide for those
who know where to look. Graeme White has made an extensive
contribution to the bush food plantings at Woodfordia, having
coordinated the plantings of over 100 species. He has a wealth of
information with plenty to share.

Jack from Bee One Third and Paul from Brisbane Backyard Bees
will demonstrate an active honeybee hive and explain their various
formations and methods of natural beekeeping.

INSECTS BY NIGHT
Meet the usually unseen insects on the Woodfordia property. Helen
Schwencke uses special lights to attract the insects to be seen in all
of their wonder.

WALKING ON SOLID GROUND
An informative walk to the Hilltop, from this vantage point, learn
about earth’s processes, landforms, rocks, soils and water flows of
the Woodford area and southeast Queensland. Bruce Ham will be
your guide and will discuss the geology and geological processes
that influence the landforms, plant life, ecology and economics of
